Abstract
ABSTRAK HUBUNGAN KONTROL DIRI DENGAN KEJADIAN BULLYING PADA REMAJA DI SMPN 29 BATAM Siti Nurlela, Yulinda Laska, Rici Gusti Maulani Latar Belakang: Remaja sering kali ditandai dengan emosi yang tidak stabil dan pengendalian diri yang belum sempurna. Akhir-akhir ini, banyak kasus di mana remaja kehilangan kontrol diri, yang berujung pada tindakan agresif seperti bullying. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara kontrol diri dan kejadian bullying di kalangan remaja SMPN 29 Batam. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis korelasi analitik dan desain cross-sectional. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik probability sampling (simple random sampling) dengan jumlah 87 responden. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner, dan data dianalisis dengan uji statistik chi square. Hasil: Dari 87 responden, mayoritas remaja dengan kontrol diri rendah terlibat dalam bullying, dengan 43 orang (91,5%) bertindak sebagai pelaku bullying. Sebaliknya, hanya 1 remaja (2,5%) dengan kontrol diri tinggi yang terlibat dalam bullying. Hasil uji chi square menunjukkan nilai p-value sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Kesimpulan dan Saran: Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kontrol diri dan kejadian bullying pada remaja di SMPN 29 Batam. Disarankan agar remaja lebih banyak memperoleh informasi tentang cara meningkatkan kontrol diri. Selain itu, institusi pendidikan diharapkan dapat memberikan edukasi untuk meningkatkan kontrol diri remaja dan mencegah bullying. Kata Kunci: Remaja, Kontrol Diri, Bullying ABSTRACT THE RELATIONSHIP OF SELF-CONTROL AND INCIDENTS OF BULLYING IN ADOLESCENTS AT SMPN 29 BATAM Siti Nurlela, Yulinda Laska, Rici Gusti Maulani Background: Adolescents are often characterized by unstable emotions and imperfect self-control. Recently, there have been many cases where adolescents have lost self-control, leading to aggressive acts such as bullying. This study aims to identify the relationship between self-control and incidence of bullying among adolescents of SMPN 29 Batam. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with analytic correlation type and cross-sectional design. Samples were taken using probability sampling technique (simple random sampling) with a total of 87 respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire, and the data were analyzed by chi square statistical test. Results: Of the 87 respondents, the majority of adolescents with low self-control were involved in bullying, with 43 people (91.5%) acting as bullying perpetrators. In contrast, only 1 adolescent (2.5%) with high self-control was involved in bullying. The chi square test results showed a p-value of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion and Suggestion: This study concluded that there is a significant relationship between self-control and bullying among adolescents at SMPN 29 Batam. It is suggested that adolescents should get more information about how to improve self-control. In addition, educational institutions are expected to provide education to improve adolescents self-control and prevent bullying. Keywords : Adolescents, Self-Control, Bullying
